Be Strong and Courageous

“We must have a non-stop flow of fortitude.” (Bill Hybels)

Here is a mighty command issued from Moses to the succeeding Israelite leader, Joshua:

“Be strong and courageous… You will claim what has been promised… God is with you… Don’t fear or be dismayed.” (Full text in Deuteronomy 31:7-8)

A mighty command for a situation with no room for half-heartedness; given to a man who needed every reassurance he could get – “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.” (Joshua 1:9)
